Golden breakfast / malawi black
Handcrafted black loose leaf tea blended from different harvests across one single independent estate in Thyolo, the oldest in Malawi and still family run. This is an ideal tea for everyday drinking and delicious brewed light or strong and with or without milk. Best brewed with freshly boiled water and a heaped teaspoon of leaf per cup.
Lady grey
Made with an organic black tea infused with bergamot oil and blended with the blue petals of cornflowers, the Lady Grey is a more subtle and gentle version of the famous Earl Grey and it the citric flavour is just perfect to pair it with cakes, scones and other sweets. An afternoon classic.
Encosta de bruma
Located in São Miguel island, in the azorean archipelago, Gorreana is the oldest tea plantation in Europe. In production for almost 150 years, the tea leaves are plucked from the highest point of the garden in July and early August. Made in the same fashion as a finest Brume teas, it clashes marine notes with hazelnuts. A robust tea with high levels of tannins and anti-oxidants, it is a beautiful choice for the morning and afternoon.
1a grade jasmim
Composed manly of Spring buds, the tea leaves are then scented in the Summer with fresh clusters of jasmine flowers, absorbing their heady, floral fragrance. This is a delicious, refreshing jasmine tea with a light scenting which allows the sweet, fruity flavour of the base tea to shine. The taste is delicate and fresh, its liquor is light yellow and limpid.
Wild yellow chrysanthemum
These tiny buds are usually uncultivated. Steeped in hot water, they will unfurl across your tea pot. The nearly translucent petals are remarkably hardy, with a warm, savory flavor that hold up steep after steep. You might taste delicate notes of sweet rice, rhye and honey. It is the num- ber-one choice in Asia to accompany snacks.
Butzelaar melange
This tea blend is only for sale in the Netherlands and has a Royal Seal from the House of Orange. It is the owners’ grandmother’s tea blend which became popular in the local tea shop. Mrs Butzelaar spent the 1920’s and 30’s in Asia and from there stemmed her interest and knowledge of teas. This tea is a blend of 3 classic teas – Green Tea; Ceylon Melange and Lapsang Souchong to give a very distinctive smokey flavour.
Best reference point for getting there - Miradouro de Santa Luzia, we are 100 metres from this location. Tram E28 Tram Stop - Miradouro Santa Luzia. If walking from downtown, follow the tram lines up to St George's Castle, past the Santa Sé Cathedral to the Miradouro de Santa Luzia - once there, cross the road and follow the small road between the 2 buildings - this is Rua de Santiago and you should see Audrey's tables and chairs outside.
